The Lenovo K8 Note is a mid-range smartphone that boasts powerful performance and advanced features.

CONS
  • Outdated design: The design of the Lenovo K8 Note looks outdated compared to newer smartphones that have been released. It has thick bezels and a large top and bottom chin.
  • Average battery life: The 4000mAh battery on the K8 Note provides an average battery life. It can last a full day with moderate usage but heavy usage may require more frequent charging.
  • Mediocre camera performance: The camera performance of the K8 Note is not as good as some of its competitors. The dual camera setup may not capture the best details or colors in low-light conditions.
  • No USB Type-C port: The K8 Note uses a micro USB port for charging and data transfer, which is becoming increasingly outdated.

I’m not gonna tell you the specs as you can see them for yourself. Thanks Amazon for the 1 day delivery. About my usage, i’m not a heavy gamer. I mostly use my phone for lots of youtube, some casual gaming, social media, lots of whatsapp and hike and the usual calls – around 2 hrs per day. I am coming from using a moto and a redmi device. Following are my observations for specific features:OS – Buttery Smooth Stock android with promise for Android O and latest security patch. Lenovo switched to vanilla android for an easier update process and this is a very welcome move. However there are additional features added like double tap to wake, dedicated music key that can be customised to different actions. Would have been sweeter if it had moto actions. They’ve got lot of heat for their slow updates and that’s why they switched to stock Android for an easier update process. And they’ve promised Android o and security updates till 2018 so not bad. 9/10Display – Very bright, high contrast, amazing colour reproduction and great viewing angles. Almost like an amoled but not quite so. Enjoyed consuming media on this premium display. 8.5/10Sound – Very loud, crisp an surrounding sound with very minimal levels of distortion at high sound and trust me you won’t even need to put the sound on the highest setting cos half sound would serve as well. Dolby Atmos was good only for speaker. 9/10Plugging in a pair of headphones was horrible. i was shocked as i faced decreased sound output, lots of distortion and i guess dolby just ruins things here. My moto g3 performed way better. I was actually using very basic earphones and maybe i should try skullcandy or sony and then really comment on it. 6-7/10Update down belowProcessor – Battery – PerformanceIt works great even when u push it with 15 apps running. U might notice heating only when you’re updating the phone or when you’re fast charging and that too the heat is not that much. It’s below 41 or 40 degrees so it’s good. I have installed 120 apps. I watched a lot of 1080p videos at 60fps without any stutters whatsoever for half an hour an the battery dropped just 2%.You can easily breeze through the day with atleast 20-30% left with moderate to heavy use. I get an average screen/ on time of 6hrs.Ram management has worked fine so far with multiple apps in memory but will become better with the next updateCharging is decently fast. 50% in 30-40 mins and full charge in 2 hrs so considering the 4000 mah capacity this is good. Please stop hyping up on snapdragon processors and stop the hate of Mediatek. The 20nm chipset is a welcome balance between power and efficiency. Keep the phone in flight mode during turbo charge for faster charging times, efficiency and better battery health.8/10Camera – Sharp, Good detail, colours and very good dynamic range. I haven’t tested extensively but so far so good. Depth effect can be polished further with updates cos its not that perfect. Front camera is very crisp and wide. Beauty mode is natural and not too harsh and flash does well in low light. However my front camera has a slight haze under the glass and due to its black front panel its visible but does not affect the image quality at all. 7-8/10Fingerprint – Very fast and even works when the finger is little wet. 10/10Design – Nothing new but black one looks sleek and is comfortable. Coming from a 5 inch phone i thought it would be uncomfortable but it is well balanced and sturdy. 180 gms doesnt feel that heavy and the 2.5D glass looks cool. Its made by motorola mobility. 10/10Call quality is strong and even long ones don’t cause any heating and 4g lte is very fast. WIFI connections are strong as it has ac wifi.Update – having some problems with Bluetooth signal which hopefully will get solved in the update. Probably just a minor bug in my deviceOther features – Notification led light is convenient however it forgets to light up sometimes but always lights for charging. Took it out to take photos in the rain and didn’t incur any damage. Thank you for giving the dedicated sd card slot. Double tap to wake, music key shortcuts and a phone cover are welcome additions. Good stuff from LenovoConclusion – go for it If you’re a moderate user with small heavy usage sessions and if you want a good balance of practical features, value for money and a stock android experience. If you game like a madman and constantly push the device to its limits and expect it to not heat and give amazing battery life and if you’re a xiaomi fan and lenovo or moto or mediatek hater, i suggest you look somewhere else cos nothing else would satisfy you except an MI6Due to delay in delivery (almost a week) and negative reviews i decided to return LG Q6 and purchase K8. I am glad to have chosen this device. Will update with pics or any other findings.Update – Tested audio quality with premium jbl headphones and I’m amazed. I guess the problem was with my basic headphones. 8/10 for audio quality.Update – Played intensive games like need for speed and Asphalt 8 at highest graphics and saw no stutters. Loading times were pretty fast too. Battery reduced less than 10% while gaming for around 25 mins. I’m not a heavy gamer though so I’m pretty satisfied. Although with heavy usage screen on times reduced from 6 to 4-5 hrs. Still pretty decent for my usage.Update – Facing signal strength and network issues. After rebooting Google play music resets deletes all my playlists and and only reads songs on the internal storage. I guess aftr reboot the sd card gets totally disconnected. This is not normal at all. I’m really annoyed by these bugs as they are ruining the experience of the phone. Reducing one star.I haven’t got the camera update via OTA that everyone’s been talking about.Do let me know about any questions or concerns and pls click on the helpful button if u liked my review

This is the most perfect review you can find on the K8(4gb + 64)I did a lot of research before I bought the device& I will discuss about itif your device behaves other than what I say, then it might be faultyPros:1.Very smooth display, gives a good feel on your hands & its a nice interface2.No hanging issue thanks to the stock android3.Camera: I think it is decent given the price of the device Depth mode(dual cam) is ok ok..(the photo below) normal images are good both(front and rear) Basically its a good camera for the price & better than its competition4.Deca core processor works like a charm though it does heat up a little bit5.Dedicated card slot with dual 4g sim slot WHICH WORKS FINE6.High end games run smoothly on high settings, decent fps7.Fingerprint recog is very fast no problems there.8.Gorilla glass 3 (2.5d glass)Not really cons:1.Heating: I have heard so much about the heating issue. Yes, the device heats up a lot of times but it does NOT get so hot that you can’t hold it. Infact its just a little above the average temperature So its not a problem for me but its upto your preferrence.2.RAM management: I saw youtube videos where the device restarts the application even when its loaded in memory. I faced NO such problems, infact I ran 3 high-end three games simultaneously & all the applications resumed from where I had left but I faced lags while I did that, which is is again not a problem cause who plays 3 games simultaneously.3.Network: I heard a lot of complains that the JIO card doesn’t work on the device,no network etc etc but IT WORKS LIKE A CHARM. Browsing, downloading you name it, is very fast upto the mark.4.LED notification: Its true the phones notifies only when you get a call, txt msg or an emailbut that’s the device setting & I don’t think that effects much, also it can be solved after an updateCons:1.Video recording should have been better, its almost below average & no slow motion recording & no 4k yet (An update has been promised, let’s see )2.Turbo charge: It takes about 2hrs to get fully charged when your device is idle, but if you do heavy usage while charging,it might take 4 hrs+ to get fully charged.Battery drains at an average pace,I won’t say its very good niether I can say that its bad.3.Dollby Atmos: This has been the most disappointing thing for me,I used k5 note which had a great Dollby effect & then there is this device which does not match the standard of its predecessor4.Low Light images are very bad on both(front and rear) rear flash is ok ok But its better than its competitionOverall :Its a good phone at the price, has pretty good benchmark scores & other scoresthere are a few cons but if you can live with them, then go for it.I will give it 3.8/5
